Recently we've 3D printed some nifty products that help organise our production gear in the studio. We're making available all the STL source files so you can print your own. All 3D print files are available here for download. Let us know how you use them.
We're giving away all the scene files for our birthday celebration 12 series. The first one can be downloaded here.. It includes all python tags, lights, HDR's and textures in C4D format.. Feel free to use it how ever you see fit, deconstruct, rip off, see how it works. If you include it anything a mention would be nice.
This footage has not been shot particularly well. But this part of the experiment was never about getting the exposures correct. It was about how we deal with using the anamorphic lens. It's huge, the weight of is quite exceptional. Moving forward, when we take it on to a real job, we're building a bespoke rig that will be attached to the ronin and other gimbals. The image quality it produces is beautiful, especially when you take into consideration the lanes it's attached to, a 50mm prime. This now allows for super wide shots with amazing depth of field. Everything feels like classic westerns, the small distortions towards the edge of the lens adds charm.
The Anamorphic lens shoots extra height, capturing more pixels than a regular lens. Once decompressed the wide 2.35.1 image is produced.

Substance painter is a heavy part of our workflow, we love the detail that can be achieved in a reasonably short time.
Not used this lens for a long time and with good reason too!! It takes an absolutely giant rig just to maintain the weight underneath it. The results it gripes are stunning, true 2.39-2.55 anamorphic pin sharp images... but it's a massive slog to get it out and about. Testing it today on the GH5 anamorphic setting. Results to follow.

the experiments with 12 continue. Colour palettes and lighting has been the main focus for this round.
Further experiments with the 12 ident. Natron is starting to become the weapon of choice over After effects, especially in motion graphics.
